  • X-HORIZON design reduces shift force and ghost shifting
  • TYPE 2.1 technologies: ROLLER BEARING CLUTCH and CAGE LOCK 12-tooth X-SYNC pulley wheels
  • Large upper pulley offset automatically adjusts chain gap

The SRAM GX group brings 11-speed drivetrains to the huddled masses with much of the technology from its higher end offerings. The GX1 1×11 Rear Derailleur is compatible with SRAM’s huge 10-42 11-speed cassette, as well, for the widest range of gears available. The GX1 11-Speed Rear Derailleur packs in all of SRAM’s top one-by engineering to ensure rear shifts are smooth, accurate, and predictable. Starting with the offset pulleys, the tall square-toothed X-Sync profiles work to positively engage and manage the chain better than traditional pulleys. These pulleys work in conjunction with the X-HORIZON’s straight parallelogram design, which limits all movement to the horizontal axis, thus eliminating ghost shifting and reducing shifting force. SRAM’s proven Roller Bearing Clutch is also present, which delivers maximum drivetrain stability by maintaining consistent tension on the chain — even while riding in the most demanding conditions. Finishing off the rear mechanism are sealed cartridge bearings and SRAM’s handy Cage Lock design that keeps the derailleur locked out of the way for easy rear wheel installation/removal.

  • Now with Zero Loss technology for front and rear shifters, just like SRAM Red
  • Double Tap technology
  • Ergonomic design is comfortable, aerodynamic, and hides all cables
  • Reach adjust allows riders to customize their brake and shift lever positions
  • Carbon brake lever and magnesium shift lever are light, stiff, and comfortable

As the saga of SRAM Force continues to be written, we can’t help but notice how close to parallel its story has becomes with Red. Dedicated carbon levers, titanium hardware, DoubleTap, Exact Actuation, Zero Loss — the list goes on and on. When examining features like weight and precision, the question begs to be asked — is there a better component value on the market? The SRAM Force Shifters responds with a resounding voice — No. Just like the previous iteration of Force, these levers have lots of top-shelf features once only the province of SRAM Red DoubleTap, like SRAM’s Zero Loss shifting and the ability to trim the front derailleur. You can also run both the brake and shifter cables along the front of your handlebar, and with SRAM’s reach adjustment feature, you can customize the lever reach to the size of your hands. At heart, DoubleTap boils down to three key parts in the shifter: A transport pawl, a holding pawl, and a spool. In short, when you engage the magnesium shift lever that sits behind the dedicated, carbon fiber brake lever, the following occurs: The transport pawl leaps over the holding pawl, and with the help of the spool, it pulls (or releases) 3mm of cable per shift. Once you’ve completed the shifting motion, the holding pawl then holds the cable in place. As you probably know, you push the same lever for both up-shifts and down-shifts. A small push of the lever releases cable to put you down into your sprinting gears, and a bigger push pulls cable to move you up into your climbing gears. It couldn’t be more simple or elegant. There are a few practical details worth mentioning. You can go up your cassette into climbing gears a maximum of three gears per shift. You can go down your cassette into the sprinting gears only one gear per shift. One highlight of DoubleTap, though, is that it permits you to do what SRAM phrases as ‘Sprint Shifting.

  • Revolutionary Yaw Technology eliminates trim
  • Fast and precise optimized shifting
  • Refined materials for stiff and lightweight cage

It was the drop heard ’round the world. Who could forget the infamous chain drop during stage 15 of the 2010 Tour de France? Andy Schleck dropped his SRAM Red chain as he attacked Alberto Contador on the climb of the Port de Bales, and witnessed his Tour hopes ride away while frantically struggling at the side of the road to get his chain back on the ring. Fans watched as the young Luxembourger wrestled with his chain, and SRAM feverishly took notes. It mattered little, regardless of whether or not it was the fault of their Red derailleur or chain. It simply couldn’t happen again. So in the aftermath of the tour, SRAM engineers reimagined and redesigned an optimal solution to ensure a mechanical would never again dictate the fate of one of its sponsored riders — or you. From the ashes of Andy’s disappointing tour defeat rises the vastly improved SRAM Red Front Derailleur with Yaw Technology, and its included Chain Spotter. What exactly is SRAM’s Yaw technology, and how does it apply to their new Red Front Derailleur? Borrowing from the principles of an aircraft’s rotational movements across a single axis, yaw dictates fore and aft lateral movement, pitch is the opposing vertical movement, and roll is the definitive vertical lean, from one side of the axis to the other. Rather than simply moving back and forth across the singular plane like that of a conventional derailleur, the new Red Derailleur is designed to rotate ‘like an airplane’ along its axis in conjunction with your shifts, preserving an optimal angular alignment with the chain at all times, no matter your gear combination. Because of this, the new SRAM Red Derailleur has done away with the concept of front derailleur trim. This is a revolutionary new design that actively maintains perfect chain alignment while still providing the crisp and punchy actuation that SRAM riders have grown accustomed to.

  • Matchmaker X compatible
  • Aluminum pull lever
  • Discrete clamp

GX 2×11 Trigger Shifters bring many of SRAM’s high-end 11-speed technologies into the realm of the affordable and work with its huge 10-42 cassette. This includes the new X-Actuation that keeps shifting precise and dependable across the cassette. Like the Exact-Actuation ratio for its 10-speed road group, SRAM has deviated from its bread-and-butter, 1:1 pull ratio. GX uses SRAM’s cable-pull ratio system to deliver a more uniform and accurate derailleur movement, with less applied force required from the user. The shifter also comes with a MatchMaker-compatible clamp in order to simplify accessibility and to create a clean aesthetic by placing your Avid or Guide levers and RockShox PushLoc suspension controls on the same clamp with your shifters.
